Massively talented attacking midfielder Allan Oyirwoth has traveled to Boston, United States, to finalize his move to Major League Soccer (MLS) side New England Revolution, The Nerve Africa sources have exclusively learned.
Accompanied by representatives from the FestoWeb Sports Management group, Oyirwoth landed in Boston to complete the move, which is expected to be finalized within the next 24 hours. The 17-year-old is set to sign a four-year contract with an additional one-year option.
A source from FestoWeb Sports Management confirmed the development, revealing that Oyirwoth will initially feature for New England Revolution’s reserve team to aid his development before joining the senior team in six months.
βAllan (Oyirwoth) is already here with us in the United States, and the deal is done. The negotiations took place behind the scenes to avoid any interference. Heβll sign for four years, with an option for one more. Itβs a proud moment, especially for his family, for him to play in a league alongside the likes of Messi and Suarez (Luis),β the source told The Nerve Africa in an exclusive interview.
A Meteoric Rise
Oyirwothβs remarkable journey began as a senior four student at Amus College in 2023, where he was named the Teso Zone MVP during a national schoolsβ tournament. He also emerged as the top scorer in the zonal competitions.
Later, at the National Football Championships held in Fort Portal, Oyirwoth was named MVP, as St. Maryβs Secondary School, Kitende, clinched the trophy. His dominance continued when he finished as the top scorer in the International Schools Football (ISF) championship in July.
A month later, Oyirwoth repeated the feat by becoming the top scorer in the East African Schools (FEASSSA) competition. In October, he was named MVP of the Buganda Masaza Cup 2023, which paved the way for his subsequent call-up to the Uganda Cranes, the senior national team.
National Team Success
Since making his debut for the Uganda Cranes, Oyirwoth has already made four competitive appearances, including one in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. He has also scored once and provided an assist while representing his country on the international stage.
