Tanzanian international defender Novatus Miroshi is on the verge of completing a loan move from Turkish club Göztepe to Greek Super League side Panserraikos, The Nerve Africa has exclusively learned.
The 22-year-old center-back is set to join the Greek team until the end of the 2024/25 season, just months after signing for Göztepe.
Panserraikos, currently battling to avoid relegation, identified Miroshi as a key target to strengthen their defensive line after a shaky start to the season. Head coach Juan Ferrando personally requested Miroshi’s signing in an effort to address his team’s defensive frailties. Negotiations between the two clubs moved swiftly, culminating in a deal that sees the Tanzanian join the Greek outfit on loan.
A source close to Miroshi’s representatives, SPOCS Global Sports, confirmed the arrangement, revealing that Panserraikos will cover the player’s wages during his loan spell. The source further disclosed that Miroshi is expected to fly to Greece early next week to complete his medical and finalize the move.
“It was an unexpected development, but once the agreement was reached, we had to move quickly,” the source told The Nerve Africa. “In a way, it’s a blessing. Panserraikos has guaranteed Miroshi significant playing time, which is crucial for his development. They will also fully cover his wages during the loan.”
Miroshi departs Göztepe after making just three appearances since joining the Turkish side at the start of the current season. Last year, he played six games for Ukrainian Premier League giants Shakhtar Donetsk. Prior to his stint in Ukraine, Miroshi spent a season and a half at Belgian club Zulte Waregem, where he made steady progress as a promising young defender.
