Callum Hudson-Odoi

This was a fruitful transfer window for the Ghanaian players worldwide. The Nerve Africa once more highlights the most interesting moves of this summer.

Hudson-Odoi Swaps London for Nottingham

The British-born Ghanaian player has been one of the most significant signings this summer with his move to Nottingham Forest from Chelsea. The reported permanent three-year deal between the clubs was worth slightly more than 9 million Euros, despite his market value reported at 15 million Euros according to transfermarkt.com. Hudson-Odoi grew up at Chelsea FC but recently struggled to earn playing time due to several injuries and poor form.

Mohammed Salisu Joins A.S. Monaco

Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu, 24, has completed a permanent transfer from the recently relegated English Premier League side Southampton FC to the French top-tier club A.S. Monaco. The Black Stars player has signed a 5-year deal. The transfer fee was reported to be around 15 million Euros, while Transfermarkt estimates Salisu’s value at 18 million.

Transatlantic Move for Richie Laryea

Canadian-Ghanaian wing-back Richie Laryea has agreed to join Vancouver Whitecaps on a loan deal until the end of the year from Nottingham Forest. The Canadian international, who also holds a Ghanaian passport, signed for Nottingham Forest a year ago but struggled to acquire the right amount of playing time. According to Transfermarkt, his transfer value is around 2.5 million Euros.

Big Step Up for Ernest Nuamah

The Nerve Africa was among the first to confirm that the French giants Olympique Lyonnais have won the transfer race for the Ghanaian wonderkid Ernest Nuamah. The 19-year-old is valued at 6 million Euros according to Transfermarkt. Lyon has agreed to sign Nuamah on a permanent contract, with Nordsjaelland having a percentage on any future resale.
