The 29-year-old defender has parted ways with Ugandan top-tier club Lugazi FC after being the part of the team for one year, Swift Sports reports.
Kabugo, who joined the club in September 2023, confirmed his departure through his social media platforms shortly after Lugazi FC’s 1-1 draw with Blacks Power at Lugazi Stadium.
Expressing gratitude towards the club, Kabugo shared:
“Thank you Lugazi FC for the memories and for the great platform given to me. Forever will be a diehard…good luck in the future.”
During his year-long stint with Lugazi FC, Kabugo has been an important figure in the team’s defense. Before his time at Lugazi, Kabugo’s career spanned across several prominent clubs, including KCCA FC, Proline FC, URA FC, SC Villa, and time abroad with Congo’s AS Vita Club, Ethiopia’s Sebeta Kenema, and Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy.
Kabugo’s departure comes as Lugazi FC currently holds the second position in the league, trailing four points behind the leaders, Police FC. His experience and leadership will be greatly missed as Lugazi FC continues its campaign in the FUFA Big League. The defender’s next move remains unknown.
