Seeking to avoid relegation from Ligue 1 in the 2023/2024 season, FC Lorient has taken Ghanaian Nathaniel Adjei on loan. The young Ghanaian defender has only spent two seasons in Europe but has already shone in the Swedish championship. 

What is Nathaniel Adjei’s Salary at FC Lorient?

The Ghanaian youth team defender joined the French team in the winter of 2024 on loan with an obligation to buy from Hammarby Fotboll, with the agreement lasting until 30 June 2024. For the 2023/2024 season in France, the Ghanaian player will receive €90,000 excluding bonuses, which equates to €8,077 per week.

Team Salary Overview: Adjei Among Lowest Paid Players in the Club

In the 2023/2024 season, FC Lorient’s total salary expenditure amounts to €20,330,000 per year, or €390,962 per week. The highest-paid player in the team is defender Benjamin Mendy, a former French national team player who earns €3,750,000 per year, or €72,115 per week. Nathaniel Adjei, on the other hand, ranks only 28th in the salary ranking: the lowest among the French club’s players.

Achievements with the National Team

Nathaniel Adjei debuted for Ghana’s U20 team in the winter of 2019. Along with the national team, the defender participated in the African Youth Cup of Nations twice: in 2019 and 2021. The second campaign was more successful for the team: the Ghanaians reached the final, defeating Uganda 2-0. However, Adjei himself was injured before the playoff stage. The defender has not yet been called up to the Black Stars – the main Ghanaian national team.

Since his debut for FC Lorient, the defender has not missed a single match.
