Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku is reportedly a target for French Ligue 1 side Rennes, despite his impressive start at Fenerbahce, as per French media outlet L’Equipe.
Rennes are eager to secure the former Strasbourg defender and are prepared to offer around €10 million for his transfer, while Transfermarkt estimates the player’s cureent value at €9 million.
Djiku, who has previously excelled in Ligue 1, is said to be open to a return to France. However, Fenerbahce appear reluctant to part ways with the Ghanaian, who has become a key player in the team’s strong pre-season performance under the guidance of legendary manager Jose Mourinho.
As the Turkish Super Lig season approaches, Fenerbahce will be keen to maintain their defensive solidity. Rennes, meanwhile, will face competition if they are to secure Djiku’s signature. The transfer saga is set to unfold as both clubs vie for the talented defender.
