In a move to fortify their defensive lineup, Asante Kotoko is on the verge of finalizing a deal with former Medeama SC left-back Fatawu Sulemana according to Ghana Soccer.
Fatawu Sulemana, 20, who initially joined Medeama in 2019 after his tenure with Miracle Land FC, recently returned to Ghana from Al Merreikh due to unforeseen circumstances related to the armed conflict in Sudan.
Negotiations between Asante Kotoko and Sulemana are in the final stages, with the club anticipating the addition of the left-back as a potential asset. As the Ghanaian football giants aim to strengthen their squad, they recognize Sulemana’s wealth of experience and skill on the field.
According to Transfermarkt the players current market value is estimated at β¬50,000. But regarding the circumstances of the departure from Sudan, it is hard to imagine that there will be an issue of a transfer fee.Β
As of now, Asante Kotoko features John Tedeku, Nicholas Osei Bonsu, and Nana Bayin Amoah in the left-back position. However, if the deal materializes, Sulemana is expected to compete for a place in the lineup, injecting healthy competition into the team’s defensive options.
Football enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the outcome of these negotiations, as the potential acquisition of Fatawu Sulemana could prove to be a significant defensive boost for Asante Kotoko in their upcoming campaigns.
