“Semenyo Leaving Bournemouth for Tottenham Doesn’t Make Football Sense” – Former Ghana Star Amoah

Former Ghana international Mathew Amoah, who earned 45 caps for the Black Stars, has urged Antoine Semenyo to reject Tottenham’s offer, calling it a “downgrade” given Bournemouth’s current form, in an exclusive interview with The Nerve Africa.

Tottenham Targeting Semenyo with €40 Million Bid

Speculation linking AFC Bournemouth winger and attacking midfielder Antoine Semenyo to Tottenham Hotspur has intensified, with reports suggesting Spurs are preparing a €40 million (£33.5m) bid for his signature.

Semenyo, 25, has been a standout performer for Bournemouth this season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 31 appearances across all competitions. His impressive form has attracted interest from multiple top clubs, including Tottenham.

Semenyo’s Contract Situation and Market Value

The Ghanaian international signed a six-year contract with Bournemouth in January 2023 after joining from Bristol City for €12 million (£10 million). His current deal runs until the summer of 2029, making him a valuable asset for the Cherries.

Meanwhile, Semenyo, whose Transfermarkt valuation is currently estimated at €28 million, remains one of the most sought-after wingers in the Premier League.

Despite Tottenham’s strong interest, Amoah believes Semenyo would be better off staying at Bournemouth unless a significantly bigger club comes calling.

“Bournemouth is currently a better team on the pitch than Tottenham and looks more stable under a very good coach in Andoni Iraola. Moving to a struggling club would be a downgrade that doesn’t make football sense,” Amoah explained.

“He’s thriving at a club that values his contributions, with fans who support him every week. Unless a much bigger team makes an offer, he should stay at the Vitality. Also, the €40 million being discussed is below his true market value, considering his contract, age, and ability.”

Other Clubs Interested in Semenyo

In addition to Tottenham, Premier League giants Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle have reportedly expressed interest in the versatile forward. Italian champions Napoli are also monitoring his situation, while reports suggest potential interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.

Semenyo’s Impact for Ghana

On the international stage, Semenyo has made 25 appearances for Ghana’s senior national team, scoring two goals and providing three assists. His performances for the Black Stars have further increased his market value and European appeal.

As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Semenyo’s next move, with Bournemouth eager to retain their star while top clubs circle for his signature.
