After days of training with the club, Ugandan international Allan Kyambadde is set to put pen to paper on a permanent employment contract with Egyptian outfit Petrojet Sports Club, The Nerve Africa sources have exclusively learned.
Kyambadde, who is a free agent, has been training with Petrojet for over two weeks in hopes of impressing the club enough to secure a contract. He has since passed the test, as his versatility to operate as a right-back, winger, and right-sided midfielder has been key in manager Sayed Eid’s decision to sign him.
A source from his representing agency, Sepuya Sports Inc, indicated that the 28-year-old will sign his three-year contract on Saturday. This will extend his stay in Egypt, following previous stints with El Gouna (2019) and El Dakhlia.
βHe has been with the team for over a fortnight now, but the contract will be signed on Saturday. He has always remained confident about securing the deal. Signing for three years is an added bonus, as it offers calm and certainty for the future,β the source told The Nerve Africa in an interview.
Last season at El Dakhlia, Kyambadde, whose Transfermarket valuation is estimated at β¬250,000, played 18 times across the Egyptian Premier League and the Egyptian Cup, scoring two goals. He played 45 games across two seasons.
Meanwhile, at El Gouna, he played 63 games across three seasons in the Egyptian top flight. He has previously played for SC Villa and KCCA FC in the Uganda Premier League as well as Vihiga Bullets in the Kenya Premier League.
At the international level, Kyambadde, who debuted for the Uganda National Senior Team, the Cranes, in 2014, has made 24 competitive appearances. He has scored twice and provided five assists in the national colors.
