Uganda Cranes international and striker Fahad Bayo Aziz is on the verge of joining Ethiopian Premier League outfit Welwalo Adigrat University Football Club, The Nerve Africa sources have exclusively learned.
Bayo has been without a club since his contract with Czech Republic side MFK VyΕ‘kov was terminated last year. He was previously close to joining Serbian club Sloboda UΕΎice and Tanzanian side Young Africans SC, but both moves fell through at the last minute.
The 26-year-old has signed a two-year contract with Welwalo Adigrat, with his unveiling set for Saturday this week. A source close to his representatives at Lumasa Sports Agency has disclosed that the player and the club have agreed on a β¬45,000 sign-on fee.

At his last club, MFK VyΕ‘kov, in his final season, Bayoβwhose market value on Transfermarkt has fallen to β¬175,000βmade 33 appearances across the league, Czech Playoffs Promotion, and the Czech Cup, scoring six goals. Over two seasons, he amassed 50 appearances and scored eight goals.
He previously played for Vipers in the Uganda Premier League, where he won the league championship. In the past, Bayo has also featured for Israeli clubs Bnei Sakhnin and FC Ashdod, as well as Ugandaβs Proline FC and Zambiaβs Buildcon FC.
Meanwhile, on the international stage, since making his debut for the Ugandan national team, the Cranes, in 2019, Bayo has earned 25 caps, scoring nine goals and providing four assists.
