Following a failed transfer to Serbian club Sloboda Uzice, Ugandan forward Fahad Bayo Aziz has hired new management, partnering with Lumasa Sports Agency to facilitate his search for a new club, The Nerve Africa has learned.
Two months ago, Bayo, now a free agent, was close to joining Sloboda Uzice, but the deal collapsed due to delays from his previous management, Rainbow Sports Uganda, in submitting the signed contractual documents to the club.
Frustrated by the setback, Bayo severed ties with Rainbow Sports and engaged Lumasa Sports Agency as his new representatives. Since then, Lumasa has held discussions with several clubs, including Denmark’s Horsens and Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta, though no concrete deals have materialized.
The 26-year-old’s new representatives have also engaged in talks with Tunisian team Es Tunis and Ugandan Premier League champions Vipers SC, who are open to welcoming Bayo back; he previously played for them in 2016.
“Bayo has partnered with Lumasa Sports Agency to strengthen his career and brand. He felt betrayed by Rainbow for the delay that caused his Sloboda Uzice move to collapse. His new management has already reached out to Horsens, Anorthosis Famagusta, Es Tunis, and Vipers, but nothing is confirmed yet,” a source close to Bayo told The Nerve Africa.
Bayo’s search for a new club comes after he was released by Czech second-division side MFK Vyškov at the end of the 2023/24 season, marking the conclusion of his two-year tenure with the club.
During his last campaign with MFK Vyškov, Bayo, whose market value on Transfermarkt has fallen to €175,000, made 33 appearances across the league, Czech Playoffs Promotion, and the Czech Cup, scoring six goals. Over two seasons, he amassed 50 appearances with eight goals in total.
In addition to Vyškov and Vipers, Bayo has played for Israeli clubs Bnei Sakhnin and FC Ashdod, as well as Proline FC in Uganda and Zambia’s Buildcon FC.
Internationally, since debuting for the Ugandan national team, the Cranes, in 2019, Bayo has earned 25 caps, scoring nine goals and providing four assists. However, he has yet to play in the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign.
