Finishing the previous season just one point shy of the playoff zone, FC Augsburg bolstered their squad in the summer of 2023 with signing a young defender Patric Pfeiffer.

Having played a crucial role in his former club’s Darmstadt 98 return to the elite division, the Ghanaian sought a new challenge. However, by the midway point of the season, the footballer has yet to secure a regular spot in the Bavarian team’s starting lineup.

What is Patric Pfeiffer’s Salary at FC Augsburg?

The Ghanaian defender joined the German team in the summer of 2023 with an agreement running until June 30, 2027. Over four years in Germany, Pfeiffer will earn €2,400,000 excluding bonuses. For the 2023/2024 season, he will receive €600,000, equivalent to €11,538 per week.

Career Salary Comparison

Patric Pfeiffer

Having showcased his talent at the youth levels for Hamburger SV, the Ghanaian defender moved to SV Darmstadt 98 in 2019, when his agreement nearly doubled his salary. Over four seasons at Darmstadt, Pfeiffer’s earnings remained constant. However, during this time, Pfeiffer progressed from being a bench player to one of the most sought-after defenders in the second German division, helping his team secure promotion to the first tier. Thanks to his impressive performances, Patric Pfeiffer attracted the attention of several Bundesliga clubs, joining FC Augsburg as a free agent in the summer. In his new team, his salary tripled, making him the highest-earning player of his career.

Market Value: Continuous Growth with Increased Playing Time

After several quality seasons with Hamburger SV’s second team, during which Pfeiffer contributed to 12 goals, the footballer moved to SV Darmstadt 98. By the time of his debut for the second-tier club, the defender’s transfer value had increased by 1.5 times. Over four years in the German second division, Pfeiffer’s transfer sum consistently rose.

From 2019 to 2022, as he became a key defender for the team, he played 59 matches and contributed 2 goals and 1 assist. During this time, his transfer value increased by more than 13 times.

The 2022/2023 season was the most prolific for the Ghanaian defender, as he scored 4 goals and provided an assist, helping SV Darmstadt 98 return to the Bundesliga after six years. Thanks to this outstanding season, Pfeiffer’s market value increased by another 1.5 times, reaching its peak. Despite minimal playing time for FC Augsburg in the current season, his transfer value remains unchanged, estimated at €3 million by Transfermarkt.

The National Team Choice

Born in Germany, Patric Pfeiffer had the opportunity to represent two national teams. Initially, the defender played for the German U17 and U18 teams. However, he only participated in two friendly matches for each team and did not feature in major tournaments. In July 2022, Pfeiffer switched national allegiances to represent Ghana. Despite being considered a valuable addition to the African national team, the footballer has yet to make his debut.

Football and Financial Prospects

Patric Pfeiffer has yet to establish himself as a regular starter for the team, appearing in just six Bundesliga matches and spending most of the remaining time on the bench. Only if the Ghanaian defender returns to his previous level of performance, he could not only negotiate a more lucrative contract with his current club but also attract attention from the top Bundesliga sides.
