Youthful Kenyan forward Xavier Odhiambo is set to make a permanent move to Swedish Second Division side Landskrona BoIS from his parent club Rosengard, The Nerve Africa sources have exclusively learned.
The development follows Odhiambo’s loan spell at Landskrona, which expired at the end of the 2023/24 campaign. Although he made only a handful of appearances last season, the club is determined to bring him backβthis time on a permanent deal.
It’s worth noting that the 19-year-old’s remaining one-year contract with Rosengard will be mutually terminated on Tuesday, allowing his permanent switch to Landskrona later in the week as a free agent.
A source close to the player’s family confirmed the developments, stating that Odhiambo will return to Landskrona, with the club promising him more playing time than he had during the previous campaign.
βAfter last season’s loan at Landskrona, Xavier was determined to seek a move elsewhere, as his parent club Rosengard hadnβt guaranteed him a clear future. But Landskrona is back and wants him permanently, with a promise of more time on the pitch. Xavier is keen on the move, and itβs progressing well,β the source told The Nerve Africa.
During his loan spell last season, Odhiambo, whose Transfermarkt valuation is estimated at β¬50,000, played just three times without scoring a goal. This followed the six games he played during the 2022/23 campaign. With his parent club Rosengard, he leaves with only two senior team appearances.
Meanwhile, Odhiambo has progressed through various youth levels of Kenya’s national teams, featuring for the U-17, U-21, and U-23 squads. However, he has yet to earn a competitive cap for the senior team (Harambee Stars).
