Ugandan midfielder Ibrahim Thembo has turned down a contract extension from NEC FC, with his current deal set to expire on June 30, as per Footy-Afrcia.
The 24-year-old declined a proposed three-year extension that included a €4,000 sign-on bonus. His agency, Prosper Sports, confirmed he is now exploring options, including interest from Vipers SC and South Africa’s Durban City.
“It’s confirmed—Ibrahim won’t stay at NEC. We’re looking for the right project, possibly abroad,” a source told Footy-Africa.
Thembo played 24 games last season and has earned two senior caps with Uganda. He was also named in the provisional squad for the upcoming CHAN tournament.
