Rwandan football powerhouse APR FC has officially announced the signing of Ugandan winger Hakim Kiwanuka from SC Villa, confirming earlier exclusive reports by The Nerve Africa. The deal, which had been in the works for weeks, was finally unveiled on APR FC’s official X account.

“APR FC is delighted to announce the signing of Ugandan winger Hakim Kiwanuka from SC Villa. Welcome to the family, Hakim!” the club posted, marking the arrival of one of East Africa’s most promising talents.

Transfer Details: Kiwanuka’s Big Move

As first reported by The Nerve Africa, the Rwandan Premier League champions secured Kiwanuka’s services for a compensation fee of €21,000 (approximately 80 million Ugandan shillings), which covers the remainder of his contract with SC Villa. In addition, the 24-year-old winger will pocket a sign-on fee of €8,000 (about 30 million Ugandan shillings) upon joining APR FC.

Kiwanuka’s move comes on the heels of a stellar season with SC Villa, where he played a pivotal role in their 17th Uganda Premier League title triumph. His impressive performances also extended to the international stage, with the winger scoring a decisive goal in Uganda’s 1-0 victory over Burundi, securing qualification for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

A Strategic Signing for APR FC

At APR FC, Kiwanuka joins an illustrious roster that includes fellow Ugandan players such as Allan Kateregga and Ashraf Mandela, along with national teammate Taddeo Lwanga. This strategic acquisition underlines APR FC’s commitment to assembling top-tier regional talent as they aim to maintain their dominance in Rwandan football and strengthen their competitiveness in continental tournaments.

Kiwanuka’s speed, technical ability, and attacking versatility make him an invaluable addition to APR FC’s lineup. Fans and analysts alike are eager to see how the Ugandan star will adapt to the Rwandan Premier League and help propel APR FC to further success.

What’s Next for Kiwanuka?

As APR FC continues their campaign to solidify their position as regional leaders, all eyes will be on Hakim Kiwanuka to deliver the same impact he showcased at SC Villa. With a new challenge ahead, the winger is poised to play a crucial role in APR FC’s quest for silverware both domestically and internationally.
