In a major career development, Bernard Somuah, the highly-regarded winger from Asante Kotoko, has officially joined RC Celta Fortuna, the reserve team of La Liga side Celta Vigo, as per the club’s official website.
At just 18 years old, Somuah’s trajectory has been remarkable, evolving from a promising young talent in Ghana to a player now poised to make his mark in European football. His journey began with an impressive stint at Afigya Liberty, where his goal-scoring prowess saw him net 22 goals in the lower leagues, catching the attention of Asante Kotoko.
Somuah quickly made an impact at Kotoko, where his performances on the field garnered widespread attention. His impressive displays during pre-season, including scoring against Bibiani Goldstars and putting in a solid performance against Hearts of Oak, solidified his reputation as one of Ghana’s brightest young talents. These efforts also earned him a spot on the Ghana U20 national team.
Now, with his move to Celta Fortuna on a season-long loan deal, which includes an option to make the transfer permanent, Somuah is set to test his skills on a bigger stage. Competing in the Primera Federación – Group 1, the third tier of Spanish football, this move represents a significant step in his professional career.
Celta Fortuna’s decision to bring Somuah on board underscores their confidence in his potential to thrive at a higher level, and it marks an exciting new chapter for the young winger as he embarks on this new journey in Spain.
