Ghanaian defender Nicholas Opoku has officially signed with Turkish Superliga club Kasimpasa SK, as confirmed by the club’s official website.
The 27-year-old center-back makes the move on a free transfer after leaving French Ligue 2 team Amiens SC, where he spent three seasons.
The transfer was finalized on Monday following a medical at Liv Hospital Vadi Istanbul, with the signing ceremony taking place at the Turgay Ciner Sports Facilities. Opoku’s contract with Amiens expired at the end of the 2023-24 season, during which he made 23 appearances in Ligue 2.
Over his three seasons with Amiens, Opoku played in 102 matches across all competitions, having originally joined the French club from Udinese Calcio in July 2021.
Before his stint in Italy, he played for Club Africain in Tunisia after starting his professional career with Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League.
Opoku, who has earned 18 caps for the Ghana national team since his debut in 2017, now embarks on a new chapter in Turkey.
