KF Shkëndija have completed the signing of Gambian international goalkeeper Baboucarr Gaye on a two-year contract, as per the club’s official website.
The 27-year-old joins Shkëndija with a wealth of international experience, having been the first-choice goalkeeper for The Gambia national team in recent years. He featured prominently at major tournaments including the Africa Cup of Nations and has been a consistent presence in the Scorpions’ starting lineup.

Born in Germany, Gaye holds dual citizenship and developed through the German football system. He began his career with Arminia Bielefeld before moving on to Stuttgart II and TuS Koblenz. In recent seasons, he featured for Lokomotiv Sofia in Bulgaria and Voska Sport in the Macedonian top flight.
Shkëndija described Gaye as a player with “international pedigree” and emphasized his role in bringing both experience and competition to the squad’s goalkeeping department.
“His international background and experience will bring added security and quality competition between the posts,” the club said in a statement.
The move marks a key addition for Shkëndija as they strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
