Former Gambia U23 star Gaira Joof is set to return to active club football after an extended layoff and will sign with an Albanian club in the coming days.
The 25-year-old forward will be hoping to make a comeback to active club football after leaving the Bangladeshi side Fortis FC in April 2023. He was, however, close to joining the Indian club Rashimir FC, but the move failed due to a lack of cooperation between both parties. He recently won a case against the club at the FIFA Tribunal over the said contract.

Having notably played with Israeli clubs since the start of his professional career, Gaira has become renowned for winning cases against clubs over contractual agreements or breaches.
This might not have been the primary reason for his long layoff, but it has had a slight impact on his prolonged absence from the club scene. He will now be back soon with a current market value of €175,000.
