Amidst rumors swirling about a potential move to Fenerbahçe, Lameck Banda, the rising star committed to Lecce, has reaffirmed his dedication to the Italian club to The Nerve Africa.
Reports buzzing in Turkey hint at Fenerbahçe’s interest in securing Banda’s services during the upcoming summer transfer window, particularly with the anticipated departure of Ryan Kent, prompting the search for an attacker.
However, Banda, the 23-year-old Zambian talent who has emerged as a key figure for Lecce, emphasized his current priorities in an exclusive statement to Nerve Africa.
“I want to develop my career here in Italy. I am happy to be playing for a very supportive team. I feel I can develop into a very good player here, and so I am not thinking about moving for now”, told Banda.
Banda’s journey with Lecce has been marked by significant growth since his arrival in August 2022, when he joined the club from Maccabi Petah Tikva for €2 million. Notably, his market value has surged from €200,000 to €6.00 million according to Transfermarkt over the span of just two years, underscoring his impact and potential.
With 54 appearances for Lecce, contributing 4 goals and 6 assists, Banda has not only cemented his place within the squad but also etched his name in the annals of history as the first Zambian to score in the Italian Serie A during his debut season with the club.
