Former Ivory Coast defender Emmanuel Eboue in an exclusive interview with The Nerve Africa has expressed his belief that Manchester United winger Amad Diallo will excel under new manager Ruben Amorim.
Ruben Amorim’s appointment as Manchester United manager in early November has sparked renewed optimism at Old Trafford. The Portuguese tactician, known for his dynamic and disciplined approach at Sporting CP, was brought in to steady the ship after a disappointing start to the season under Erik ten Hag.
Eboue, who made 79 appearances for the Ivorian national team, is confident that Amorim’s tactical approach will bring out the best in the 22-year-old, who has already shown glimpses of his potential this season.
“I think it’s a no-brainer for Manchester United to give him a new contract,” Eboue said in an exclusive interview with The Nerve Africa. “Whenever he is given a chance, he always proves his worth. I believe he will shine even more under Ruben Amorim.”
Highlighting Diallo’s technical abilities, Eboue added, “The composure he shows on the ball, especially for someone so young, is remarkable. It’s fantastic to see a player from my home country excelling and deciding games for a club as prestigious as Manchester United. Given more time, he will be great.”
Diallo has already improved his contributions this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in seven starts (16 appearances). This marks a better tally than his output in the entirety of last season. With Amorim’s arrival, he is increasingly being viewed as a candidate to take over the right-wing position, competing with established names like Antony and Marcus Rashford.
As Diallo’s contract approaches its expiration at the end of the season, Eboue has urged Manchester United to act swiftly to secure his future.
“Manchester United needs to be proactive here. Amad Diallo has the potential to be a key player for the team for years to come,” he concluded.
