Daniel Amartey Close to Joining Trabzonspor: Negotiations Progressing Smoothly

Ghanaian international defender Daniel Amartey may soon return to the pitch during the upcoming transfer window, with reports suggesting he is in advanced talks with Trabzonspor coach Şenol Güneş, Africa Foot reports. 

Since parting ways with Beşiktaş in September, the former Leicester City defender has been without a club. However, Amartey appears set for a swift return to action. Sources reveal he has been in direct contact with Güneş, and negotiations are progressing toward a deal. According to Africa Foot, discussions between Amartey and Trabzonspor’s management have advanced significantly, and an official announcement could be made before the end of December.

Amartey remains in Turkey, focusing on maintaining his fitness. Speculation suggests he will sign a one-and-a-half-year contract with Trabzonspor, with an option to extend for an additional year.

Last season with Beşiktaş, the 29-year-old featured in 18 league matches and two Turkish Cup games. His experience and versatility could prove invaluable for Trabzonspor as they aim to steer clear of the relegation zone.

Amartey is currently valued at €4 million on Transfermarkt. However, as a free agent, Trabzonspor will only need to cover his signing bonus.
