Despite efforts to retain him, speedy Zambian winger Edward Chilufya will not be staying at BK Hacken and is set to return to his parent club, Midtjylland.
The Swedish top-flight club was eager to keep him permanently, but injuries discouraged them from continuing negotiations with Midtjylland, as per The Nerve Africa sources.Β
Chilufya, 24, returned to Sweden on loan in September after appearing in 61 games and scoring six goals for Midtjylland, which he joined for β¬3.5 million from Djurgardens IF in 2022.
After impressing for Hacken before the end of 2024, scoring five goals in eight games, including a brace against AIK in the Swedish league, the club was pleased and wanted to keep him, sources from The Nerve Africa confirmed.
Chilufya, whose market value according to Transfermarkt is β¬2 million, is still available for potential suitors, sources have said.
Midtjylland will be open to offers for the player ahead of the summer transfer window.
Chilufya bid farewell to BK Hacken on Thursday in an Instagram post.
He wrote, βThank you @bkhackenofcl for everything. You’re not just a part of my past, but a beautiful chapter in my ongoing story.β
Chilufya is now with the Zambia national team for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Morocco and Tanzania.
He enters the qualifiers after scoring in Hackenβs 4-1 victory over AIK in the Swedish league on Sunday.
