English Football League side Plymouth Argyle have signed Ghanaian international Michael Baidoo on a long-term deal that keeps him at Home Park until the summer of 2028, as per the clubβs official website. Β
The transfer, reportedly a record fee for the club, surpasses the amounts paid for Morgan Whittaker and Bali Mumba in 2023. According to Transfermarkt the playerβs current value is estimated at β¬3,5 million.Β
A Star from Sweden
The 25-year-old midfielder arrives from Swedish side IF Elfsborg, where he was a standout performer since joining in 2022. Known for his versatility, Baidoo can also play as a striker and has been integral to Elfsborgβs Europa League campaign, scoring five goals and providing three assists in the competition. He also netted 10 goals and registered four assists in the 2024 Allsvenskan season, including a memorable winner against AS Roma in October.
A Well-Traveled Talent
Baidoo began his career at Danish club FC Midtjylland and gained further experience through loan spells with Jerv and Fredericia. Before moving to Sweden, he also played for Norwegian club Sandnes Ulf. His international career recently took off with a debut for Ghana, adding to his impressive footballing rΓ©sumΓ©.
