Gambian left-wing player Modou Barrow is very close to terminating his contract with Saudi Arabian giants Al-Ahli FC according to thenerveafrica.com exclusive information.
The two parties are close to agreeing terms to part ways after a long discussion while other transfer negotiations for the player hanging on the balance.
The former Swansea City and Reading FC player joined the Saudi club in January 2023 from Jeonbuk FC in South Korea. Barrow went on to help Al-Ahli secure promotion back to the Saudi Pro League a season after their relegation. He had a double figure of goals and assists combined in four months.
However, with the recruitment of some top signings to the Saudi club, mainly in the forward department ahead of the new league season, the Gambian preferred to leave the club to avoid less game time.
Turkish club Sivasspor are among the teams pushing for his β¬1 million market value. Sivas offered Barrow a loan deal with an option to buy. However, Al-Ahli want to get rid of the playerβs contract at the soonest possible without paying his huge wages.
With his next destination likely to be Turkey, the player and the club are now close to agreeing to terminate his contract which should have lasted until the summer of 2025.
