Gambian left-winger Modou Barrow has signed for Turkish Süper Liga side Sivasspor as a free agent after terminating his contract with Saudi club Al-Ahli FC according to the sources of TheNerveAfrica. The club later confirmed the deal.
Barrow signed a two-year contract with the Turkish side that will keep him at the club until 2025.
This would be Barrow’s second stint in Turkey after first wearing the colours of Denizlispor in the 2019/20 season on loan from English side Reading FC. He scored 3 goals and assisted two times in 24 appearances in that season.
The 30-year-old was key for the Al-Ahli team that gained promotion back to the Saudi Pro League last season under South African coach Pitso Mosimane. He joined in January 2023 and contributed greatly in the last three months of the season as they got off to the late quality.
The former Swansea FC, Nottingham Forest, Jeonbuk FC, and Leeds United forward has a market value of 1.20 million euros but is very unlikely for any team to pull out this cash for him now.
