Ghanaian international Kamaldeen Sulemana is set to begin a new chapter in Italy after completing a €17 million transfer to Serie A side Atalanta BC, rising to €21 million with add-ons.
In a Footy-Africa exclusive, Ghana legend Anthony Yeboah has thrown his support behind the move, expressing confidence that Atalanta coach Ivan Juric—who briefly coached Sulemana at Southampton—will bring the best out of the 23-year-old winger.
“Serie A suits him more than the Premier League. Juric understands him well, and with the space and tactical setup in Italy, Kamaldeen can really thrive,” Yeboah said.
The winger endured a tough spell at Southampton last season, registering just 2 goals and 3 assists in 30 appearances, but Yeboah believes the change of league and coaching environment will mirror Ademola Lookman’s revival at Atalanta.
Sulemana has 20 caps for Ghana and previously played for Stade Rennais and FC Nordsjaelland. Now, with Champions League football ahead, he has the chance to reignite his career.
