Atalanta BC are close to securing the signature of Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, with advanced talks ongoing between the Italian club and Southampton, as per Footy-Africa.
The 23-year-old joined Southampton in 2023 on a four-year contract but is now open to a move after a difficult spell in England. Atalanta, managed by former Saints coach Ivan Juric, have intensified their pursuit, with Juric pushing for a reunion with the player.
A source close to Sulemana’s camp confirmed the player is eager to join Atalanta but will only proceed once both clubs finalize terms. “He sees this as a fresh start and a chance to reignite his career,” the source said.
Sulemana was previously linked with FC Nantes, but Southampton rejected a loan move. Now valued at €13 million by Transfermarkt, the winger has also featured for FC Nordsjaelland and Stade Rennais.
On the international stage, Sulemana has made 20 appearances for Ghana’s Black Stars.
