Ugandan midfielder Bobosi Byaruhanga will not sign a new contract with Czech Republic side MFK Vyskov and will officially depart the club when his current deal expires on December 31, The Nerve Africa has exclusively learned.
Byaruhanga joined MFK Vyskov in 2022 after leaving Ugandan Premier League giants Vipers SC, although he has not played a single game for the Czech club. Instead, Vyskov loaned the versatile midfielder on two separate season-long spells to MLS Next Pro side Austin II FC in the United States.
Following the conclusion of the 2024 MLS Next Pro season, the 23-year-old has returned to his native Uganda for the holidays while also working to finalize plans for his next career move.
Sources close to BSG Group, which represents Byaruhanga in his football dealings, have confirmed that the player will not extend his contract with MFK Vyskov. However, they declined to comment on whether Byaruhanga would sign a permanent deal with Austin II FC.
βBobosi (Byaruhanga) is definitely not renewing with MFK Vyskov, who have been his parent club for two years. Heβll honor the remainder of his contract as we look for a new home. We havenβt decided fully on a permanent deal with Austin II, but weβll get there. We dream of a bigger project for our client,β a source told The Nerve Africa in an exclusive interview.
In the recently concluded season at Austin II, Byaruhanga made 24 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals. In the 2023 campaign, he featured in 26 matches, scoring once and providing three assists. Notably, he is also a former two-time Uganda Premier League champion with Vipers SC.
At just 23 years old, Byaruhanga has already earned 25 competitive caps for the Uganda national team, the Cranes, scoring twice and registering four assists in national team colours.
