The Scottish Premier league club Hearts have strengthened their midfield with the signing of Malachi Boateng from Crystal Palace, as per the club’s official website.
The 22-year-old joins the Jambos for an undisclosed fee, committing to a three-year contract at Tynecastle Park. According to Transfermarkt the player’s current value estimates at €450,000.
Boateng is a defensive midfielder known for his solid performances and has prior experience in Scottish football. He began his professional career with Crystal Palace in 2019 after progressing through their youth ranks.
During his time with Palace, he earned accolades such as U18s and U23s Player of the Year and was a key player in their Premier League 2 side. The player’s familiarity with Scottish football comes from successful loan spells with Queen’s Park and Dundee.
Hearts Head Coach Steven Naismith expressed his satisfaction with the new signing, emphasizing Boateng’s athleticism, ball-winning abilities, and understanding of Scottish football.
“I’m pleased we’ve been able to get the deal done and bring Malachi in,” Naismith said. “With a couple of players out through injury, it pushed us to act swiftly. Malachi will fit in well to our dressing room, and I’m looking forward to working with him as we focus on starting the season positively.”
Fans at Tynecastle Park can look forward to seeing Boateng in action as Hearts aim to build on their squad’s strengths and achieve a successful season ahead.
