Kenyan defender Johnstone Omurwa will part ways with Portuguese Liga outfit CF Estrela da Amadora after the expiry of his contract on June 30, The Nerve Africa has exclusively learned.
Omurwa’s agent, Shiomi Ben Ezra, confirmed the development in an exclusive interview, disclosing that he is in the process of securing a new team ahead of the forthcoming 2024/2025 season.
“There were no talks (to renew) with Estrela, so we are in the process. We are talking with a number of teams that have shown interest across Europe. We will see what happens. Johnstone wants to play regular football.”
Recent reports have strongly linked the player to a move to another Portuguese side, Vizela, which was relegated in the season that ended on Friday.
Omurwa failed to make the match-day squad for the final eight matches of the 2023/2024 season, as Estrela survived relegation to finish 14th with 33 points in 34 Portuguese Liga matches.
