SV Darmstadt 98’s return to Germany’s elite football division has been challenging for the team and particularly for Ghanaian forward Braydon Manu. Having debuted in the Bundesliga, Manu suffered multiple injuries. His injury history could adversely affect the negotiations for extending his contract with the club.
Braydon Manu’s Salary at SV Darmstadt 98

After two seasons marked not only by injuries, but also notable performances, the Ghanaian footballer renewed his contract with the club, which is set to expire on June 30, 2024. For the remaining season in Germany, Manu will earn €560,000 excluding bonuses, which translates to €10,769 per week.

Market Value: Rapid Growth Post-Loan Return
After two successful seasons with Eintracht Braunschweig’s second team, Manu moved to a Third League club in Germany, by which time his transfer value had increased by 4.5 times. Over two years in Halle, Manu became a key player and helped the team win a trophy. Thanks to his standout performances, his transfer value increased by more than 1.5 times. However, his debut at SV Darmstadt 98 was disappointing: only four matches in the first season and a return to Hallescher FC for a year thereafter caused his value to drop by €50,000. On loan, Braydon Manu revived his career.
The 22/23 season became his most successful and productive, contributing to 14 goals and assists, helping the club ascend to the Bundesliga. As a result, his transfer value quintupled, reaching its peak. Currently, despite the injury, Transfermarkt.com values him at €1.5 million, ranking him sixth among the most valuable players at the German club, sharing the spot with German Marcel Schuhen and Austrian Mathias Honsak.

National Team History and Achievements
In 2021, Braydon Manu was called up to the Ghana national team for World Cup qualifiers. However, he did not play for the national team and has since been overlooked by Black Stars coaches. Among his achievements, Manu won the Saxony-Anhalt Cup, held among Third League teams, during the 2018/2019 season. He scored nine goals during the tournament and subsequently moved to the second Bundesliga.
Football and Financial Prospects
The 2023/2024 season has been extremely challenging for Braydon Manu. Having played in only two starting tours, he has not appeared in the roster since. Initially absent for over a month due to tonsillitis, he then suffered a serious ankle injury. Given that Manu has missed most of the season and SV Darmstadt 98 is in the relegation zone, there is a likelihood that the club may not extend his contract.
