In the 2023/2024 season, Fenerbahce SK emerged as one of the primary contenders for the Super Lig championship. However, earlier in autumn the team has faced increased difficulty securing victories following the injury to key defender Alexander Djiku, resulting in two consecutive away defeats in the Conference League. These setbacks shed light on why Fenerbahce SK signed Djiku, making him the second-highest-paid Ghanaian player in the Turkish league. Now he is back in action and The Nerve Africa analyses his salary and market value.

International Achievements
Debuting for the Ghana national team in 2020, Djiku participated in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. While he played the entire first match in the group stage against Portugal, his appearances decreased in subsequent games, with limited playing time against Uruguay. Djiku scored one goal for the national team during the group stage of the African Cup of Nations against Comoros.
Football and Salary Prospects
Following his move to Fenerbahce SK, Djiku quickly established himself as a key defender, featuring in eight out of nine starting rounds. However, a leg injury in late October sidelined him from Super Lig matches. Nevertheless, his return to the squad is expected to strengthen the team’s championship aspirations, and a season-ending title could lead to an increase in the defender’s salary.
