Tanzanian football club Simba SC is facing the potential departure of Zambian midfielder Clatous Chama, who has expressed openness to leave the team during the upcoming January transfer window, according to The Nerve Africa sources.
The seasoned midfielder recently faced disciplinary action, being suspended by the club, intensifying his frustration with his current situation.
Sources close to the player have disclosed to The Nerve Africa in Tanzania that Chama is not only disheartened by the recent suspension but has a genuine desire to part ways with Simba SC.
The undisclosed source commented, “He is frustrated here. The suspension has made it even worse. Chama wants to leave Simba.”
Despite the challenges, the 32-year-old midfielder seems to have a range of opportunities awaiting him. According to the same source, several clubs have expressed interest in acquiring Chama’s services. The potential suitors include South African clubs, indicating a possible move to a different league. Additionally, Chama is said to be exploring opportunities in Europe, although his age may present a challenge.
“Well, a number of teams want him if he leaves Simba. There are South African clubs, and he is also exploring opportunities to go to Europe, though his age disadvantages him, but he wants that. We shall wait and see,” revealed the source.
Chama initially joined Simba in 2018, showcasing his skills before briefly moving to Morocco’s RS Berkane. However, his stint with the Moroccan club lasted less than a year, leading him to rejoin Simba SC.
