Budding Ugandan talent Pius Ssebulime is on the verge of completing an initial loan move to Italian Serie C club Unione Sportiva Pergolettese, sources from The Nerve Africa have exclusively revealed.
The versatile defensive midfielder, currently with Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC, will join Pergolettese after the international break on a six-month loan, allowing the club to assess his performance before considering a permanent transfer.
A source close to Ssebulime’s representatives, Sepuya Sports Inc., disclosed that all necessary arrangements have been finalized and that Ssebulime is scheduled to travel to Italy on November 24 to begin his stint with his new club.
βPius (Ssebulime) to Pergolettese in Italy is a done deal, but it will be a six-month loan. Heβll travel after the international window to get started. His goal is to make a strong impression, as the club is prepared to sign him permanently if he performs well. Pergolettese will activate the clause for a four-year contract if he makes a positive impact,β the source told The Nerve Africa in an exclusive interview.
Itβs noteworthy that Ssebulime, a graduate of the KCCA Junior Team, will be playing in Europe for the second time, having previously been on loan with Portuguese side Clube Desportivo Feirense.
Ssebulime has also represented Buddu Saza in the Buganda Masaza Cup, captaining the team during his tenure despite his young age. Additionally, he led the KCCA Junior Team in the Cambiasso tournament held in Tanzania in 2023.
On the international stage, Ssebulime has progressed through various youth levels, representing Uganda at the U-15, U-17, and U-20 levels. However, he has yet to receive a call-up to the senior national team, the Uganda Cranes.
