Wrexham AFC has bolstered its attacking lineup with the signing of 21-year-old Gambian striker Mo Faal on a permanent deal, securing his services until at least 2027, with an option for an additional year, as per the clubโs official website.ย
Faal, known for his towering six-foot-five stature and impressive ball skills, adds a unique physical presence to Phil Parkinson’s squad.
Faal, who was born in the Gambia and moved to England at the age of seven, has expressed a strong desire to follow in the footsteps of fellow Gambian Jacob Mendy by representing the Gambia’s national team, the Scorpions, in the future.
The young striker made his mark in English football after graduating from West Bromwich Albionโs academy. Last season, he showcased his goal-scoring abilities during loan spells with Sky Bet League Two sides Doncaster and Walsall, netting 13 times in league competition. Prior to that, Faal turned heads with 10 goals in 16 matches while on loan at AFC Fylde during the 2022/23 campaign.
Faalโs football journey began at Sutton Coldfield Town, which earned him a move to West Bromwich Albion at 16. He later contributed to West Brom’s Premier League Cup triumph in the 2021-22 season. Interestingly, his first professional goal came at Wrexhamโs SToK Cae Ras last season while playing for Doncasterโa moment he recalls as particularly special.
Now, as he returns to the SToK Cae Ras, this time as a Wrexham player, Faal is eager to make his mark in the third tier and continue his journey as a proud Gambian making waves in English football.
