17:00 Everton eyeing Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho as striker target
Premier League club Everton has set its sights on signing Nigerian international and Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho. The 26-year-old player, who has one year remaining on his contract with the Foxes, has been subject to transfer speculation since the start of the summer window.
Iheanacho initially joined Leicester City from Manchester City in the summer of 2017. Despite his undeniable talent, he has struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup, making just 11 starts in 28 appearances last season but still managing to contribute to 10 goals for the team in the league.
In light of his situation, Everton has expressed keen interest in the striker. Toffees manager Sean Dyche holds Iheanacho in high regard, as reported by bbc.com. The Merseyside club is expected to make their first approach to Leicester City soon, spurred by a recent setback in their pursuit of long-term target El Bilal Toure, who opted to join Serie A side Atalanta from Almeria.
