Halid Lwaliwa is poised to complete a contract extension with North Macedonian FK Bregalnica Stip, according to sources of The Nerve Africa.Β
Lwaliwa, 27, will see out his current contract on June 30 this year, with discussions already underway for at least another year’s extension.
A representative from Assist Sport Casa, his business agents, noted, βThe only thing I can reveal at this moment is that Lwaliwa wants to stay and talks are ongoing,β as exclusively disclosed to The Nerve Africa.
Lwaliwa joined FK Bregalnica Stip in the 2022/2023 season from Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC on a two-year contract. Since joining, he has played 46 Macedonian First League matches, including 26 in the current campaign, establishing himself as a key player.
Currently, Bregalnica Stip is fighting for survival, ranking 11th in the 12-team table with just 28 points from 26 games.
At Vipers, Lwaliwa was a title-winning captain, known for his loyalty and diligence since graduating from St Maryβs Secondary School, Kitende, in 2017. He played a pivotal role in Vipersβ Uganda Cup victory in 2021 and the Uganda Premier League championships in the 2019/2020 and 2021/22 seasons.
With the national senior team, the Uganda Cranes, Lwaliwa has accumulated 27 caps since his debut in 2019.
