BK Hacken, a Swedish top-flight club, and speedy Zambian winger Edward Chilufya are currently in negotiations for a permanent contract, according to The Nerve Africa sources.Β
Hacken wants Chilufya to remain at the club once his loan from Midtjylland expires in June. The 24-year-old returned to Sweden on loan in September after appearing in 61 games and scoring six goals for Midtjylland, which he joined for β¬3.5 million from Djurgardens IF in 2022.
After impressing for Hacken before the end of 2024, scoring five goals in eight games, including a brace against AIK in the Swedish league, the club is pleased and wishes to retain him, sources from The Nerve Africa have confirmed.
Chilufya, whose market value according to Transfermarkt is β¬2 million, has missed Hacken’s last four games due to illness, but the club is optimistic they will see more of him this season so that he can stay.
Sources close to the player have also informed Nerve Africa that Hacken believes Chilufya should stay and hopes Midtjylland will agree.
Chilufya, whose form at Hacken earned him a national team call-up for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations where Zambia exited in the group stage, is also said to be content in Sweden and willing to stay if the offer is good.
