Ligue 1 side RC Lens have opened negotiations with Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Gyasi following his confirmed exit from Italian club Empoli, as per Footy-Africa.
Gyasi, 31, will officially become a free agent on June 30 after opting not to extend his contract with Empoli, who were relegated from Serie A this season. Sources close to the player say Lens are offering a two-year deal, with an option for a third, though salary demands remain a sticking point.
โGyasi is interested in the move and Lens are optimistic, but his demands are high,โ a source revealed.
The versatile attacker impressed over two seasons at Empoli, featuring in 77 Serie A games with three goals and three assists. He previously played for Spezia and several other Italian clubs, including Torino and SC Pisa.
Gyasi has three caps for Ghana but hasnโt featured for the national team since 2021. A move to France could boost his profile and reignite his international ambitions.
