Ugandan international Milton Karisa is set to be lured away from six-time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC by Norwegian top-flight outfit Sandefjord FC, The Nerve Africa sources have exclusively learned.
Karisa, whose representatives met Sandefjord officials on Tuesday in Kampala, is a free agent as his contract with Vipers is set to expire on June 30. He has been tempted by a move to Europe rather than signing an extension with his current side.
A member of his representatives at Assist Sport Casa disclosed that Sandefjord is particularly impressed by the player’s consistency and professionalism. βWe’ve had lengthy meetings on Monday and Tuesday, and a deal could be on. Sandefjord has a concrete offer for Milton; they feel he will be a valuable addition to their team. They love the ethical side and the numbers he has been producing.β
At 28, Karisa, who is valued at β¬300,000 by Transfermarkt, has been captain for Vipers for the past two seasons. Last campaign, he netted 10 times and provided seven assists in 33 Uganda Premier League, Uganda Cup, and CAF Champions League matches.
This was in addition to the 11 goals and eight assists managed in the preceding season (2022/23), where he walked home with the countryβs top prize, the Uganda Premier League Player of the Season Award, along with three other accolades. Since joining from Moroccan side Mouloudia Dβoujda in 2020, he has played 123 matches for Vipers.
With the national senior team, the Cranes, Karisa has amassed 31 caps since his debut in 2018.
