Montpellier announce their new summer signing – Nigerian striker from Norwegian tier one side Lillestrom Akor Adams, club’s official website reports.
His European career started in Norway with a second division club Sogndal in 2019. However, Adams’ promotion was not too far off seeing his impressive performance (11 goals in 33 caps). The 23-year-old moved to Lillestrom where last season he managed to net unbelievable 17 goals in 17 appearances sparking interest of Chelsea and Bologna. Striker chose France and signed a 4 year contract for €5.5 mln.
Adams, valued at €4 mln by Transfermarkt, was welcomed at Montpellier by a fellow Nigerian and a club legend – John Utaka, who played a key part in club’s Ligue 1 triumph in 2012.
