Gambian international winger Modou Barrow has expressed his openness to returning to one of his former clubs, Östers IF in Sweden, in the future, as per The Nerve Africa.
Barrow is currently training with Swedish club Växjö Norra IF after ending his loan spell with Turkish side Sivasspor mid-season. During his time with the Turkish team, he managed to contribute to two goals in 18 appearances.
Barrow will stay with Växjö Norra until July before rejoining his Saudi Arabian top-tier club, Al-Ahli, for preseason preparations ahead of the new league season.
However, given his unfortunate departure from Al-Ahli—where he was informed he would not be part of the new project despite playing a key role in their return to the Super League—the 31-year-old is now ready to return to Östers IF in Sweden.
The Gambian winger, who is also a former Swansea City forward, joined Östers in 2013 and scored 13 goals in 22 games over two seasons. His impressive performance at the club earned him a significant move to England, where he joined Swansea for the 2014/15 season.
“We have unfinished business. It is possible, sooner or later,” Barrow said regarding his former club.
With his future at Al-Ahli uncertain, Barrow, who has a current market value of €800,000, could be a target for interested clubs. A free transfer is also a possibility.
