Ghanaian forward Solomon Gyan has exclusively revealed to The Nerve Africa that Zambian Premier League side Lusaka Dynamos failed to pay him his salary and signing-on fee, prompting his move to Namibian Premier League side Julinho Athletic FC.
The 26-year-old began his football journey in Akosombo, Ghana, before moving to Nigerian side C.O.D United FC in 2017. A year later, he joined Albanian club FC Kamza, gaining international experience.
In 2019, Gyan took his talents to Zambia, signing with lower-league side Irwin Rangers before earning a move to Lusaka Dynamos in 2022. However, after two years at the club, the winger became frustrated with financial difficulties and decided to seek a new opportunity in Namibia.
“I moved from there because the team owed me some salary and also a signing-on fee. That’s why I moved to the Namibian league,” Gyan revealed in an exclusive interview with The Nerve Africa.
“I want to stay fit for next season and look for another club during the transfer window,” he added.
A versatile player, Gyan primarily operates as a winger on either flank but has also occasionally been deployed as a left-back.
His move to Namibia marks a fresh chapter in his career as he looks to remain active and find better opportunities in the upcoming transfer window.
