Zambian forward Lameck Banda is open to leaving Italian club Lecce this summer after struggling for regular playing time, as per Footy-Africa.
The 23-year-old endured a challenging 2024/25 season, missing a large portion of the campaign due to injury. Since returning, Banda has found it difficult to secure a place in the starting lineup, featuring in only 17 matches across all competitions and starting just six times in Serie A. He registered one assist during the season.
Last year, Turkish side Fenerbahce showed interest in signing the winger, but Banda chose to remain committed to Lecce at the time. Now, with limited opportunities and his market value down to โฌ4,5 million according to Transfermarkt, he is reportedly more open to a move.
Banda joined Lecce from Israeli club Maccabi Petah Tikva in August 2022 for a reported fee of โฌ2 million. His performances initially impressed, with his market value rising from โฌ200,000 to a peak of 6 million before declining due to recent setbacks.
Across two seasons in Italy, Banda has made 76 appearances, scoring 4 goals and providing 8 assists. Whether he will stay and fight for his place or seek a new challenge remains to be seen as interest from other clubs grows.
