Ghanaian defender Konadu Yiadom has successfully made his way to Ukraine to start his tenure with the top-flight team FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih, as reported by Ghana Soccernet.
Yiadom’s initial signing with the Ukrainian club on a season-long loan from Ghana Premier League’s Hearts of Oak took place in September 2023. His arrival was delayed due to complications in securing the necessary travel documents, postponing his much-anticipated move to the Eastern European country.
After months of waiting, the center-back, known for his remarkable defensive skills, finally landed in Ukraine on Wednesday morning, ready to join his new teammates at FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih.
During his stint with Hearts of Oak, Yiadom made his mark by participating in 20 matches across different competitions and scoring two goals last season. His prowess was not only recognized in domestic leagues but also on the international stage, where he represented Ghana at the 2022 CHAN tournament in Algeria. According to Transfermarkt the player’s current value estimates at €100,000.
The 23-year-old defender joins FC Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih at a crucial time, as the club is currently enjoying a stellar season, sitting second in the Ukrainian Premier League with 43 points from 21 matches. The team is on a quest for a spot in continental football competitions next season.
Yiadom will not be alone in this new chapter of his career, as he reunites with fellow Ghanaian Prince Kwabena Adu, who also made the move to Kryvbas in September last year. The addition of Yiadom is expected to bolster the club’s defense as they push for higher achievements in the league and beyond.
