Two promising talents from Gambian football clubs, Pa Ousman Jagne of Samger FC and Modou Lamin Marong of Steve Biko FC, have made their much-anticipated move to Nyíregyháza Spartacus FC in Budapest, Hungary, according to The Nerve Africa sources.
The duo arrived safely in Hungary and are set to undergo training while finalizing their professional contracts with the League 2 side.
Scouted during the SPOCS trial held last December in the Gambia, both players impressed scouts and teams with their skills and potential during the week-long scouting mission at the goal project. Their journey to Hungary marks a significant step towards fulfilling their dreams of playing professional football.
Nyíregyháza Spartacus FC, founded in 1928, currently competes in the Hungarian second division and sits comfortably atop the table with a significant 11-point lead over the second-place team, with 12 games remaining in the season.
As the latest additions to the growing list of Gambian talents seeking opportunities abroad, Jagne and Marong pave the way for more players expected to follow suit in the coming months, demonstrating the increasing recognition of Gambian football on the European stage.
