Zambian striker Patson Daka continued his scoring streak in the English Championship with a man of the match performance against Rotherham on Saturday, netting a quick-fire brace in Leicester City’s 3-0 win at the KingPower Stadium.
Daka, who had gone for three months without playing, was Leicester City’s most in-form striker in December in the absence of Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho due to injury and illness, respectively.
The 25-year-old striker, who has now scored four goals in his last four starts for Leicester City, remains the subject of a transfer in January. However, The Nerve Africa sources say clubs that were interested in buying him are now sceptical as he will be going to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) next month and may only return to club football in February if Zambia stays in the competition.
It’s also been revealed that Leicester City are now considering keeping him following his impressive form in December.
Daka and his handlers were set to secure a move in January due to a lack of game time under Italian manager Enzo Maresca who openly said he preferred Vardy and Iheanacho for his frontline, but his participation at AFCON has been a turn-off for suitors like AC Milan, who pulled out on deadline day in the previous transfer window.
It now remains to be seen if he will stay or leave Leicester City.
