Chelsea FC made a move for Nottingham Forest FC striker Taiwo Awoniyi, but the inquiry of the Premier League giants was made just 48 hours before the transfer deadline and the deal didn’t go through, as Soccernet.ng reports.
After the Londoners forward Nkunku suffered an injury that led to surgery in early August and was out of the game for months Chelsea bosses attempted to secure Awoniyi’s services according to The Athletic. But the inquiry to Nottingam Forest came just 48 hours before the transfer window deadline.
Awoniyi, 26, is valued at 25 million Euros according to Transfermark and his reported salary is £2,184,000 per year.
