Zambian midfielder Benson Sakala has confirmed to Footy Africa that he turned down multiple offers from clubs across Europe before sealing a move to Bohemians Praha 1905.
The 28-year-old, who left FK MladΓ‘ Boleslav as a free agent, signed a two-year deal with the Czech top-tier side last week.Β
“Yes, I had other offers from different clubs in Czechia and also other parts of Europe, but I chose this club because it has a good sportive project for me,” Sakala said.
Sakala made 45 appearances and scored two goals for MladΓ‘ Boleslav, helping them qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League. His European journey began in 2021 and has seen a steady rise through Czech football ranks.
Internationally, Sakala has been named in Zambiaβs provisional squad for June friendlies against Sudan and Tunisia.
